In order for the customer to realize maximum benefits from a dryer at a minimum amount of operating and service cost, it is important to give careful consideration to the electrical and venting facilities available at the location where the unit is to be installed. Many appliance repair service calls can be eliminated by proper installation. Be sure the dryer installation meets or surpasses recommended minimum standards.

Unpack the literature and miscellaneous parts from inside the drum and remove the shipping tape holding the drum to the cabinet maytag dryer repair los angeles.
All appliance installations such as washers and dryers require a solid floor which will not vibrate when dryer is in position. It should be reasonably level, but absolutely solid on all four leveling legs. Check for level with a carpenter’s level on the top panel. Check for leg looseness by applying alternating pressure on diagonal corners of the top of the dryer. It may be necessary to reinforce a weak or spongy floor with a half inch plywood platform under the dryer and bracing under the floor joists. Adjust the leveling legs as needed. Use a 12 inch adjustable wrench to adjust the leveling legs. Note: You must take the weight off the leveling legs before you make adjustments.
All dryers should have an outside exhaust vent to vent heat, lint, and moisture into the air. Remember that two-thirds or more of the weight of wet clothing being placed into the dryer will be water. The dryer must remove the water by releasing it to the atmosphere. If the dryer exhaust is properly vented, this moisture will be expelled out of the dryer, through the house vent ducting, and through vent louvers to outside. When dryer is exhausting into the room, however, the excess moisture vapor will condense onto the walls, ceiling, and contents of the room. The vapor will be re circulate back through the dryer; since this air already contains so much water, the dryer efficiency will be greatly impaired. Do not do this. Always vent the dryer to the outside. Most electrical dryers are approved for use without outdoor vents but I still do not recommend doing this.. To comply with the American Gas Association rules, all gas dryers should be exhausted to the outside. Be sure also to check for local codes involving the venting of dryers.
Remember that major home appliances typically work on 220-240 volt wiring. These large appliances are wired with the help of a grounding wire, and their plugs include two blades and a prong. Any appliance of this type must be plugged into a grounded power outlet. The outlet should have openings to receive both blades and the grounding prong. Sometimes the appliance can also be grounded with a special adaptor plug. The power requirements of the appliance in watts, volts or amps will labeled on the appliance casing.
